From Graduand to Graduate
So somehow it all came together and I graduated last week. I have proof, see? I'm wearing the cap in the awkward photo at left, along with a mildly sunburned face (or is it flushed with free, unlimited champagne and Pimms?) and an ugly brown hood. BROWN. Who would choose BROWN for a graduation hood??Anyhows. The ceremony was very lovely - it took place in St. Clement Danes Church, just down the street from the Institute. They even rang the bells for us as we all trooped across the Strand. The ceremony was short and sweet and pretty much presided over by God, so that was a bit cool (right, that's a joke. It's just NICE that the whole affair was in a CHURCH, if you know what I mean). If anybody is wondering whether I received a Distinction (as I brazenly wished for in a previous post) - the answer is NO. But I did get a Merit, and that was just FINE. My Merit and I get along very well, especially since I didn't do enough work to deserve a Distinction.
I'm looking into jobs now so I'll be sure to keep all of you posted on my progress. I had an interview at Tate Modern on Monday, which, sadly, did not go as well as I thought it would. I had another at Tate Britain on Thursday, though, which went very well! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Surely someone has need of my cool skillz in London. More news soon.
